Hyperscale / Key Segments Senior Field Project EngineerEaton's North American Sales (NAS) Division is currently seeking a Hyperscale / Key Segments Senior Field Project Engineer. This is a hybrid position based in Charlotte NC, Arden, NC or Raleigh NC.The primary function of the Hyperscale / Key Segments Senior Field Project Engineer is to serve as the technical liaison between the product lines, field sales and the customer during the execution of major sized project orders. In this role, you will have technical ownership of the order and create a positive customer experience through a proactive approach to project support and issue resolution. The Project Engineer leverages centralized resources to manage documentation and resolve issues while building relationships across customers and Eaton facilities to deliver a successful project. This position works independently on daily tasks while also collaborating with the project manager, coordinator, and sales team to deliver a successful project.In This Function You Will:Act as the technical liaison and point of contact between customers, sales, and factories to efficiently carry out technical order configuration, documentation, and warranty resolutions.Develop and maintain relationships with external customers (end customers, distribution, contractors) and internal customers (sales, plants, services) for assigned projectsReview and interpret project specific contract drawings and specifications ensuring technical accuracy and complianceJoin on-site project kick-off meetings, host customers in-person at plant inspections and witness tests, and lead/coordinate site visits for startup/commissioning and warranty workHost and/or lead regular project focused calls and meetings with external customers to ensure project technical details and issues are reviewed and resolvedManage technical changes to the bill of material – leading coordination and verification with plant engineering teamsCoordinate and interpret engineered-to-order drawings to build customer documentation packages and answer project specific technical questionsLeverage centralized resources to create, manage and own project specific documentation including but not limited to customer Submittal packages, Construction drawings, Operation and Maintenance Manuals, and As-built drawingsProvide warranty/quality technical support for customer issues:Review issue, related drawings/specifications and BidManager configurations to determine warranty validityProvide basic troubleshooting with the customer using schematics, drawings, and product manualsDiagnose the issue and gather all required technical data for plant quality teamCoordinate plant, customer, and services as required to resolve the issueServe as the customer's advocate and escalation point by relaying the appropriate level of urgency to contacts in Eaton's manufacturing facilities and escalating issues as required to managementPursue continuous learning of Eaton products and applications related to engineered productsCollaborates independently and maintains relationships with Sales Engineers, Project Managers, Project Coordinators, other Project Engineers, and the Documentation TeamLead verbal or written communication with internal and external stakeholders to address technical scope and design concernsDevelop and execute proactive order entry strategies that will facilitate order fulfillment and technical support as well as minimize order delay.Analyze and communicate project risks and financial impacts based on technical changes or requirementsManage daily phone and email activity, providing directions, solutions and updates.Lead training and shadowing for new hire Project EngineersPerform all other duties as required by Management.Qualifications:Required (Basic) Qualifications:Bachelor's degree from an accredited institutionMinimum 3 years of work experience in sales, sales support, technical role or applicable fieldRelocation assistance is not available. This means that Eaton will not support any CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT plans, F-1 to H-1B, H-1B cap registration, O-1, E-3, TN status, I-485 job portability, etc.Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in engineering or another technical fieldElectrical industry expertise and product knowledgePrior engineering, sales and/or sales support experience with focus on the following customer bases: data center, wastewater treatment, government, utility, commercial constructionProficiency in applications required for job function including, but not limited to, Eaton BidManager, Adobe Acrobat, Bluebeam, customer quality management tools, ERP systems, and Microsoft O365Skills:Position Criteria:Possess technical sales aptitude, market channel knowledge and power distribution expertiseCapable of working in a team environment, using strong communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to establish customer relationships within the market area while maintaining and growing existing customer relationshipsKnowledge of Eaton product and service capabilities and can assemble standard offerings to meet customer needs with occasional internal oversightPossess necessary computer skills including Adobe Acrobat, web-based applications, Microsoft Office applications, and other product configuration toolsPossess organizational, presentation, training, and planning skillsKnowledge of market industry and key trendsDegree of impact – Critical financial impact, long-term Customer and Consulting Engineer relationships along with Sales and Distributors, high visibility/complexity projects, program level commitments/relationships, both Configured-To-Order (CTO) and Engineered-To-Order (ETO) productsDecision making – Independent decision making with direction from sales/customer and Project Managers, proactive actions to drive project completionAbility to travel 10% of the time
