Job Summary:
The location is in San Francisco, California. This position is for a Registered Nurse specializing in Labor and Delivery in a Labor and Delivery Department. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day. The role involves providing high-quality maternity care in a fast-paced environment, supporting high-risk pregnancies, and performing a variety of obstetrical nursing procedures.

Job Details:

• Shift: Nights, 12 hours per shift
• Minimum Hours Per Week: 36 hours
• Required Qualifications: CA Registered Nurse (RN) license, ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), BLS (Basic Life Support), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certifications; BSN degree required; at least 3 years of Labor and Delivery RN experience with a minimum of 1 recent year, combined with 3 years of experience overall; current travel experience; valid California RN license in hand; ability to work every other weekend; ability to float to other UCSF facilities; COVID-19 vaccine and booster required; completed references must be in hand at time of submission from the most recent employer (2 references).
• Preferred Qualifications: Previous charge nurse experience; experience with Epic electronic medical record system; experience with high-risk delivery procedures; familiarity with Level I Nursery protocols.
• Additional Information: This role involves responsibilities such as assisting with vaginal and cesarean deliveries, neonatal resuscitation, postpartum care, and high-acuity obstetric procedures. The patient population includes a mix of low and high-risk pregnancies, including patients with co-morbidities, substance abuse, and those transferring from homebirth. The unit handles 200-300 facility births per month and adheres to staffing guidelines outlined by AWHONN (Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses). Floating to other facilities within a 75+ mile radius may be required at any time during the assignment.
