Registered Dietitian

The Registered Dietitian at Bishop Spencer Place is seeking a part time nutrition professional that develops and oversees the implementation of nutrition interventions/prescriptions for patients nutrition diagnosis. Responsible for coordinating the plan of care/interventions and consulting with other members of the health care team to ensure optimal patient outcomes. This RD will work 24 hours per week.

• Demonstrates proficiency in standards of practice (nutrition assessment, nutrition diagnosis, nutrition intervention/plan of care and nutrition monitoring and evaluation).
• Demonstrates proficiency in standards of professional performance (quality in practice, competency/accountability, provisions of services, application of research, communication and applications of knowledge and utilization and management of resources).
• Uses nutrition care process (NCP) ADIME-assessment, diagnosis, intervention, monitoring and evaluation for patient's nutritional assessment.
• Performs nutrition focused physical exam (NFPE) and documenting clinical criteria to demonstrate patients with malnutrition.
• Collaborates with other members of the healthcare team regarding patients nutrition plan of care.
• Completes yearly department competency and other performance improvement projects as assigned.
• Uses evidence based practice in patient care.
• Serves as a preceptor to dietetic interns.
