Be part of a company where your work supports a mission that makes a difference—apply today! ​Position Summary:The Additive Manufacturing Engineer Ior II is responsible for designing products to meet customer's requirements including all design, functional, material, and test requirements from the customer's component and sub-tier specifications. The specific assignments and responsibilities will be consistent with the level of experience of the engineer. Regular interaction required with other engineers and test technicians as well as occasional contact with suppliers, contractors, and customers. Occasional travel may be involved. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer looking to work on products from conception through design review, collaborate with fabrication, and ultimately witness and participate in qualification. This position requires attention to detail, creative thinking, willingness of hands on testing, and collaborative teamwork.Job requirements:B.S in Engineering is required as a minimum - Mechanical, Aerospace, or equivalent. Advanced technical degree is desirable, but not required. 0-5 years minimum design experience with a variety of valves and fluid control devices preferredExperience with and knowledge of mechanical, electro-mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic controls Strong CAD modeling skills using tools such as CREO, SolidWorks, or equivalent. Design for AM experience is a plus.Solid analytical skills are required: stress analysis, fluid flow, and materials scienceAbility to solve complex mechanical, static, and dynamic problemsKnowledge of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and compressible flowExposure to performing analytical solutions using tools such as ANSYS or CREO Simulate. Experience with ABAQUS a plus.Must work precisely, accurately, and with close attention to all detailsHigh level of mechanical aptitude and knowledgeAdvanced organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneouslyExcellent written and verbal communication skillsDefense/aerospace experience a plusFundamental knowledge of metallic AM processes, including Laser Powder Bed Fusion and Directed Energy Deposition is a plusThis position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance, therefore you must be able to obtain/maintain a security clearanceHighly computer literate, with MS Office/PC expertise, and demonstrated experience with applicable systems, programs, equipment, etc.Must be a US CitizenEssential or Primary / Key Responsibilities:Work with the team to create, update, and review drawings and bills of materials for new and legacy componentsDevelop test requirements and create procedures and reports essential to all qualification and production requirementsModify legacy and new designs that are capable of being effectively manufacturing through AMMaintain ongoing surveillance of customer-driven changes, with written notification to Contracts Administrator or Program Manager, including program impact assessmentEnsure accuracy of all drawings, procedures, and reports on the project. This includes but is not limited to tolerance stack-ups, specification compliance, material specification, critical design notes, procedure requirements, and report data.Communicate technical and schedule problems, in a timely manner, to Engineering Manager / Director, Contracts Administrator, and Program Manager when applicableManage all duties per ISO 9000: Procedure 4.1 Design ControlSupervision/oversight of engineering assistants, documentation personnel, design personnel, and test personnel on project activities as requiredAdditional / Job Responsibilities:Coordinate efforts of sub-contractors who are performing manufacturing and post-processingBring initiatives and activities to closure in a timely manner through effective interaction with individuals, both internal and external to the Marotta organization (as required).Abide by all safety, quality, housekeeping and company policies/procedures to ensure compliance to various regulatory and internal system requirementsFoster a positive and cooperative work environment through effective communication at all levels internal and external to the organizationActively participate in team meetings, improvement initiatives/programs, etc. to provide constructive recommendations and initiate actions to support company initiatives/goalsConsistently demonstrate commitment to company valuesSupport metal AM manufacturing cell, including but not limited to build preparations and machine set-up/troubleshootingKeep management informed of area activities and of any significant problemsAssume responsibility for related duties as required or assignedWork Environment:This job interacts in a professional office environment, Engineering Lab, and manufacturing environments. This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, hand tools, test equipment, as well as environments inclusive of the appropriate eye, hearing, ESD and foot protection (as required).This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday – Thursday 9 hours and 4 hours on Friday. Overtime and weekend work are required, as job duties demand.Some travel may be expected for this position (20%) including Test Labs (e.g. EMI), vendor, and customer visits.General Physical Requirements:Frequent verbal communicationsJob may require Lab bench work, including manipulation of small objects and use of hand tools and test equipment.The employee may be required to lift and/or move items weighing up to 25 poundsThis position is at our Parsippany, NJ office location.Pay Range: $87,750 - $115,000/yearMany of our contracts require proof that you are a U.S. citizen and/or that an export license has been obtained for employees who are citizens of certain countries.
