Job Summary

Radiation Therapist. This position provides therapeutic radiation treatments and computed tomography simulations in an acute care setting. The role administers external beam radiation as prescribed by the radiation oncologist and supports image-guided radiation therapy services.

Job Details

• Schedule: MondayFriday, 8:00 a.m.4:30 p.m.; 40 hours per week. No weekends or major holidays.
• Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Radiation Therapist
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Certified Radiation Therapist certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • West Virginia state license; applicants willing to wait for the license may be considered
• Additional Information:
  • Administers external beam radiation as prescribed by the radiation oncologist
  • Performs image-guided radiation therapy and cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) procedures
  • Experience with Varian linear accelerators required
  • Department includes one computed tomography simulation scanner and one linear accelerator
  • Typical workload includes approximately 3035 therapeutic radiation treatments and 35 computed tomography simulations per day
  • A radiation oncologist or covering physician is available during treatment hours
  • Intravenous starts are not required
  • Charting and radiation oncology systems include ARIA and EPIC
  • Scrubs are not provided; solid-color scrubs are permitted, excluding navy blue
