Commercial HVAC Technician

Location: Austin, TX / San Antonio, TX (Field-Based)

Job Overview:

We are seeking skilled and experienced Commercial HVAC Technicians to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of commercial heating and cooling systems, proven troubleshooting experience, and a commitment to high-quality workmanship.

This is primarily a field-based position. Technicians will install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair complex commercial HVAC systems while ensuring compliance with applicable industry regulations and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, maintain, and repair commercial HVAC systems, including RTUs, chillers, boilers, cooling towers, and VRF systems.

• Diagnose HVAC system issues and complete necessary repairs efficiently and accurately.

• Perform routine preventive maintenance to maximize equipment performance, reliability, and service life.

• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.

• Ensure all work complies with local, state, and federal HVAC codes and applicable safety standards.

• Collaborate with building engineers, facility managers, contractors, and other stakeholders regarding HVAC system performance and service requirements.

• Accurately document completed work, service reports, parts used, and other job details through the company ERP system.

• Respond to emergency, weekend, and after-hours HVAC service requests as needed.

• Stay current with advances in HVAC technology, equipment, controls, and industry best practices.

• Maintain a professional relationship with customers and provide exceptional service in the field.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• 2-5+ years of commercial HVAC installation, maintenance, and repair experience.

• EPA Universal Certification required.

• HVAC certification preferred.

• Strong knowledge of electrical and refrigeration systems, including diagnostic and troubleshooting techniques.

• Experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS) is a plus.

• Ability to safely lift heavy equipment and work in confined spaces and extreme weather conditions.

• Strong communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills.

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

• Comfortable using smartphones, tablets, iPads, and other handheld technology for field documentation.

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with customers, contractors, and internal teams.

• Availability for occasional emergency, weekend, and after-hours service.

Technicians will primarily work in the field and will rarely be required to report to the physical office.
