Job Summary
A growing tax team in Fresno, CA is seeking an experienced Tax Reviewer for a direct hire opportunity. This management-level tax accounting role is ideal for a CPA with strong public accounting experience, deep technical tax knowledge, and a passion for delivering accurate, high-quality tax services to a diverse client base. The Tax Reviewer will review individual, partnership, corporate, and S Corporation tax returns while supporting tax planning, quality control, client service, and staff development. This is a strong opportunity for a detail-oriented tax professional who enjoys technical review work, mentoring team members, and contributing to a collaborative, professional environment with supportive leadership and long-term career growth potential. Key Responsibilities - Review complex federal and state tax returns, including Forms 1040, 1065, 1120, and 1120-S, for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.- Evaluate workpapers, documentation, basis calculations, deductions, credits, income reporting, and other tax positions.
- Research federal and California tax issues and provide technical guidance to staff, managers, partners, and clients.
- Identify tax-saving opportunities and support tax planning recommendations for individuals and businesses.
- Communicate review comments clearly and professionally while assisting with client meetings and tax notice responses.
- Mentor tax preparers and staff accountants while helping improve review procedures, workflow efficiency, and quality control standards. Compensation and Benefits - Salary range: $80,000 to $150,000 per year.
