Senior Cloud Network Engineer, Axon

Salary: $111,000 - 177,600 per year Requirements:

• We need at least 7 years of hands-on network engineering experience, with a strong emphasis on designing and delivering complex network solutions using Infrastructure as Code, especially Terraform.
• We need proven experience designing and provisioning AWS environments with Terraform or Terragrunt, integrated with CI/CD pipelines such as Jenkins, GitHub, or GitHub Actions.
• We need deep expertise in AWS networking, including VPC, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, ALB/NLB, ingress and egress architectures, and Route 53.
• We need solid experience with SD-WAN architecture, including orchestrators, firewalls, routers, and switches.
• We need strong knowledge of core networking technologies such as TCP/IP, VLANs, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VPN, and DNS.
• We need the ability to independently troubleshoot production systems and perform detailed packet capture analysis in mission-critical environments.
• We need experience planning, designing, implementing, and operating enterprise IT networks and data center network environments.
• We need a strong understanding of network security principles and best practices.
• We need demonstrated experience diagnosing private and public transport connectivity issues that affect production systems.
• We need hands-on experience with Git and DevOps tools such as Visual Studio Code, Bitbucket, Jenkins, GitLab, or similar platforms.
• We need experience with network monitoring and optimization tools, including the ability to quickly identify issues affecting voice and video quality.
• We need strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams and explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• We need the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, manage ambiguity, and adapt to shifting priorities.
• We need comfort using data analytics to investigate and resolve complex technical problems independently.

• We lead network design initiatives across on-premise, cloud, and hybrid environments.
• We configure and maintain Fortinet firewalls, Cisco switches and routers, and other networking equipment.
• We strengthen network security by applying best practices and carrying out regular security audits.
• We monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure maximum uptime and reliability.
• We perform production system upgrades and independently carry out debug sessions in mission-critical live environments.
• We manage network projects such as new builds, upgrades, expansions, and migrations.
• We collaborate with vendors and service providers to resolve network-related challenges.
• We deploy network infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code tools and pipelines.
• We provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior network engineers.
• We contribute to the design, integration, and implementation of public safety solutions for 911 and government customers worldwide.
• We help deliver 24/7 service to customers as part of our Global Operations team.
