Manufacturing Process EngineerInterface with the factory technical staff to define opportunities for standards development and cost savings. This role is typically focused on high complexity manufacturing processes. This role is also responsible for solving high level customer and assembly specific problems in the manufacturing process. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:Lead monitoring, auditing and reporting of site process through use of metricsLead new and existing product specific process implementation, and controls in support of Delta Group Electronics and customer specific needs at the siteMentor and train individuals in various product specific production processes, required tools, and philosophiesSupport Design for Manufacturing (DFM) development on new and existing customer projects and RFQ'sLead assessments of new components for implementation into the manufacturing processSupport manufacturing tool design and implementationSupport failure analysisSupport new customer product introductionsLead cost reduction projects on specific processesSupport quote activities by reviewing and ensuring all customer technology requirements are metSupervisory ResponsibilitiesMay manage 1-5 subordinate employees in the production department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.QualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Education and/or ExperienceMinimum of a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of experience and education are required for this position; Bachelor's degree is preferred.Industry experience of 3- 5 or more years is highly desirable.Experience with electronic manufacturing processes is highly preferred.Intermediate Electronic Assembly skills required.Thermal, Mechanical, and Materials Knowledge preferred. Intermediate Operational Knowledge preferred.Language SkillsProficiency reading, writing, and speaking English to satisfactorily perform the duties of the position.Mathematical SkillsAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Reasoning Ability Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Intermediate Decision Making and Problem Solving Computer Skills Perform moderately complex computer tasks as assigned. Intermediate skills required.
