Expectations of all Employees:
Work is performed in a multi-story hotel environment without elevator access. This position is physically demanding as it requires the ability to regularly climb and descend multiple flights of stairs while carrying a housekeeping caddy and supplies. Room assignments fluctuate daily based on occupancy, meaning there is no guarantee rooms will be on the same floor or in the same section. Housekeepers must be prepared to navigate stairs frequently between check-outs, stay-overs, and room refreshes.
The role also requires extended periods of walking, standing, bending, kneeling, squatting, and lifting or moving objects weighing up to 50 pounds, alongside moderate to frequent levels of physical agility and standard equipment operation. Extended workdays may occasionally be required to meet workload demands during peak seasonal occupancy periods.

- Regular attendance and timely reporting to work, ready to begin the scheduled shift.
- Ability to work flexible schedules (including weekends, nights, and holidays) to meet hotel and guest needs.

- Report all on-the-job injuries to a supervisor or the Manager on Duty immediately, regardless of how minor the injury may seem.
- Act as a safety and security agent by identifying and promptly reporting potential risks to guests and/or employees to management.
- Arrive to work on time in accordance with the attendance policy, wearing the appropriate and approved work attire/uniform, maintaining a neat and professional appearance.
- Complete work in a timely manner and meet established productivity standards.
- Keep the work area clean, safe, and well-organized.
- Demonstrate a collaborative team attitude, working together effectively to accomplish tasks, including supporting other operational areas when needed.
- Accurately record all hours worked. Seek approval from management prior to working any overtime (including clocking in early or staying beyond a scheduled shift).
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Complete room cleaning tasks according to required quality standards within established time limits (e.g., minutes per assigned room).
- Stock housekeeping carts sufficiently at the start of the shift based on daily room assignments.
- Utilize daily operational reports from the Executive Housekeeper or Supervisor to maximize efficiency and avoid disrupting guests.
- Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, safety glasses, or kneepads to work safely and prevent workplace injury.
- Remove all soiled linen and towels from beds and bathrooms while inspecting for safety hazards or bloodborne pathogens. (Beds must be completely stripped and remade with fresh, clean linen for every arrival; failure to follow linen change standards will result in immediate termination, as this presents a safety & security risk for our guests).
- Remove trash, recycling, and debris from guest rooms and bathrooms, replacing liners where necessary.
- Make beds neatly to precise brand specifications with clean sheets and pillowcases.
- Dust, sanitize, and clean all furniture, fixtures, mirrors, windows, frames, and surfaces; ensure furnishings and amenities are positioned properly (perform targeted deep-cleaning tasks as assigned).
- Clean and scrub the entire bathroom—including floors, tubs, showers, toilets, sinks, and counters—by utilizing proper physical techniques (kneeling, bending, squatting).
- Read, understand, and carefully follow safety labels on chemical containers (Never mix chemicals); understand the proper operation of all cleaning equipment and refer to Safety Data Sheets (SDS) before use.
- Clean carpets and hard flooring thoroughly using vacuums, sweeping tools, and hose attachments for corners and baseboard edges.
- Turn in all items found in vacant or checked-out guest rooms to the Executive Housekeeper immediately; ensure items are properly dated, bagged, and tagged in accordance with Lost & Found procedures.
- Ensure all guest room supplies, amenities, and collaterals are replenished daily consistent with brand standards.
- Verify that all guest room equipment is in good working order, including TVs, lighting, alarm clocks, hair dryers, coffee makers, and HVAC units.
- Communicate physical defects or items needing repair to the maintenance department in a timely manner.
- Report any potential property dangers—including suspicious behavior, broken glass, leaks, or electrical issues—to a supervisor immediately (Do not attempt to handle or dispose of hazardous substances without proper training and supervision).
- Promote property security by keeping guest room doors locked while working; restrict room access to registered guests, keep assigned keys secure on your person at all times, and position the housekeeping cart in front of the doorway while cleaning.
- Report any room damage, property abuse, or violations of non-smoking policies to the supervisor immediately.
- Verify climate control functionality and leave the thermostat set to the designated energy-saving or arrival temperature before exiting the room.
