With a steadfast commitment to advancing medical technology, we take immense pride in the work we do – and have a lot of fun doing it.About this role:This position is responsible for building mechanical products in accordance with customer supplied assembly documentation and Vander-Bend Manufacturing standards.ResponsibilitiesThis position incorporates all of the responsibilities required of an Mechanical Assembler 1, plus the followingAssembles the most complex Mechanical assemblies independently or under limited supervisionPerforms low to moderate level mechanical product testing using established methods and fixtures.Reads, understands, interprets, and accurately follows complex written assembly instructions without assistanceProvides technical assistance to less skilled assemblers.Participates in department meetings, identifies barriers to efficient operations, and need for additional or improved tools, fixtures, or methods, and communicates improvement ideas to area lead or supervisor.Requirements2+ years of previous assembly work, at least one year of which must be in Mechanical products which are similar to those manufactured by Vander-BendAbility to read, write and perform basic arithmetic problemsMust understand complex written and verbal instructionsMust read and interpret blueprints and or schematicsMust use basic hand, electric, and pneumatic tools used in performing specific operator requirementsPhysical RequirementsMedium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.Heavy work: Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
