We are looking for customer-friendly and passionate employees to be a part of our growing organization where patients and employees are our top priority.The Medical Assistant will be caring for patients in the following capacity:Assists provider with exams (including patient vitals), procedures and other processes related to direct patient care under direct supervision of the Provider and within the scope of practice of a Medical Assistant.Administers all forms of medications per policy and Provider direction and adheres to all safety protocols and procedures for medication administration.Will perform blood draws as per direction of the ProviderMay be responsible for urine collection for various testing to include employer drug screensMay perform splinting and castingConduct various type physicals such as sports physicalsPerforms other related duties specific to urgent care such as ear lavage, wound care and oxygen administration.Notifies the provider on duty promptly of all unusual patient occurrences including medication events on an incident report.Promptly notifies the Clinic Manager of patient or employee safety concerns.Follows guidelines and requirements of laboratory and clinical accreditation policies.Must be proficient in EMR/EHRPerforms other related duties as assigned or described by Company policy.Additional Laboratory Responsibilities May Include:Analytical Testing : Perform moderate-complexity clinical testing across authorized disciplines (e.g., Chemistry, Hematology, Urinalysis) in strict accordance with the laboratory's COLA-approved SOP manual.Quality Control & Calibration : Execute and document daily instrument calibrations, quality control (QC) tracking, and corrective actions for out-of-range values prior to reporting patient results.COLA Inspection Readiness : Maintain orderly, verifiable, and audit-ready logs for all pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical activities to ensure seamless biennial COLA on-site surveys.Competency & Training: Participate in mandatory, documented competency assessments (semiannually in the first year of employment, and annually thereafter) covering all six CLIA-mandated elements.Proficiency Testing (PT): Successfully test and document blind proficiency testing samples exactly like patient specimens, adhering to strict anti-commingling regulations.Specimen & EMR Processing : Accession, process, centrifuge, and evaluate sample integrity, reporting data accurately into the Laboratory Information System (LIS).Critical Value Notification : Promptly recognize critical, life-threatening results and follow immediate notification protocols to the attending Texas healthcare provider.As a Medical Assistant, you may also be asked to support Front Office Reception. When working in the front office you will perform such duties as: keeping patients and families informed of wait times, monitor the flow of patients, process patients for discharge including preparing charges, collecting payment, obtaining all necessary signatures and issuing receipts.The Medical Assistant supports the organization with customer service and treating all of our patients with respect and dignity. They ensure the clinic and front reception area is running smoothly and patient flow at the optimum, as well as provide patient care services in the back office medical setting, which will meet the specific needs of the patient.Essential Education, Experience and Skills:ARIZONAEducation: Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent; ANDCompleted an APPROVED (accredited) Medical Assistant training program.ORCompleted an UNAPPROVED (non-accredited) Medical Assistant training program AND a National Certification through one of the following:American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) - administers the Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) exam and certification; orAmerican Medical Technologists (AMT) -- provides the Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) exam and certification to individuals who have completed the AMT criteria; orNational Healthcareer Association (NHA)-administers the Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) exam and certificationALL OTHER STATESEducation: Must have a minimum of high school diploma or GED ; you will be asked for a copy of your diploma at time of offer, if we are unable to verify your education through the pre-employment background process official transcripts will be requested.ANDCompleted an APPROVED (accredited) Medical Assistant training program.ORCompleted an UNAPPROVED (non-accredited) Medical Assistant training program AND a National Certification through one of the following:American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) - administers the Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) exam and certification; orAmerican Medical Technologists (AMT) -- provides the Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) exam and certification to individuals who have completed the AMT criteria; orNational Healthcareer Association (NHA)-administers the Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) exam and certificationORCompleted an UNAPPROVED medical assistant training program AND was employed as a medical assistant for one (1) year or more after program completion OR must have VERIFIABLE work experience directly supervised by Provider or Physician Group for a minimum of 2000 hours or 1 year.** Other MA education or experience may be considered upon review and approval from Compliance and Regulatory department **NextCare offers full time employees medical, health savings account, dental, vision, basic life, voluntary employee/spouse/child life, long term disability, short term disability, employee assistance program, critical illness, accident, legal, identity theft and paid time off benefits.
