Fund Controller

A highly regarded, investment-focused asset management firm is seeking a Fund Controller to join its lean, sophisticated finance and operations team. The Opportunity The firm is a global, long-term investment manager with a concentrated, fundamental value-oriented strategy and a sophisticated institutional investor base. With a highly collaborative team and a lean organizational structure, this individual will have the opportunity to work closely with senior leadership and gain visibility across the firm's broader fund operations. Key Responsibilities Oversee and execute a broad range of fund accounting and financial reporting responsibilities Participate in the preparation and review of financial statements, NAVs, and related reporting Support technical accounting matters and complex fund-related transactions Partner closely with senior leadership on accounting, finance, and operational initiatives Help identify opportunities to improve processes, controls, and overall efficiency Work cross-functionally across the organization and gain exposure to a wide range of fund operations Serve as a hands-on resource who is comfortable getting into the details rather than simply managing from a distance Ideal Background Approximately 4–8 years of relevant experience Hedge fund experience is required Experience in public accounting, private accounting, or a combination of both CPA strongly preferred Strong technical accounting foundation and excellent attention to detail Exposure to multiple investment products/strategies is highly desirable Candidates with some private equity experience will also be considered Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in a lean, entrepreneurial environment Genuine "team over me" mentality Highly motivated to learn, take on responsibility, and grow with the organization Comfortable being hands-on and taking a true roll-up-your-sleeves approach Why This Role This is an opportunity to join a small, high-caliber investment organization where the Fund Controller will not be siloed into a narrow accounting function.
