Staff Attorney

Provide legal representation, counsel, and advice to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault in obtaining, extending, or modifying protection orders, divorce, child custody, guardianship, adoption, termination of parental rights, or other family law matters. This position reports to the Managing Attorney or Executive Director. Conduct client intake interviews with victims of domestic violence and sexual assault for the Domestic Violence Victim’s Assistance Project (DVVAP) Provide legal representation, counsel, and advice in family law matters, including but not limited to obtaining, extending, or modifying protection orders, divorce, child custody, child support, guardianship, adoption, and termination of parental rights Prepare and file pleadings, motions, and all legal documents necessary to the fulfillment of representation responsibilities Travel, as necessary, to rural communities for client meetings and court hearings Input time and case information into a case management database software Participate in CLE trainings, pro bono trainings, domestic violence trainings, and other trainings as required Assist in the development of the DVVAP program Participate in community outreach efforts, which at times may include travel to rural communities Maintain client confidentiality Other duties as assigned by the Managing Attorney or Executive Director #J-18808-Ljbffr
