As an Hourly PH Registered Nurse within the Georgia Department of Public Health, you will join a dedicated group of public health professionals that help support the overall mission and vision of protecting lives of Georgian residents in a variety of ways.

Location: North GA Health District Office- Dalton, GA (Hourly Part Time--up to 29 hrs. per week max)

Job Responsibilities

• Assures Children's First (C1st) program operations include the accurate processing of paperwork, documentation and record keeping of protected health information
• Conducts home visits to complete comprehensive assessments of clients health care needs
• Assists (6) counties in District 1-2 in the promotion and assessment of eligible children into the Children First (C1st) Program
• Develops and sustains community partnerships
• Works closely with other programs within the Children with Special Needs (CWSN) Unit, such as Children's Medical Services, Early Hearing Detection and Intervention & Babies Can't Wait to ensure linkage to all available services
• Provided back-up to C1st Referral Coordinator, as needed
• Screens and refers clients to other community service providers
• Participates in drills and exercises on mass dispensing
• Performs job responsibilities with minimal supervision

Minimum Qualifications

Associate degree in nursing from an accredited college or university and completion of a PHN course within one (1) year of hire and current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license and CPR certification Preferred Qualifications

• Bilingual-English/Spanish
