About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: MS/Telemetry Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required License: SC or Compact license required prior to start Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Experience in MS/Telemetry, interpretation of dysrhythmias, telemetry on the unit - Experience working with common medical conditions, such as diabetes, hypertension, chronic respiratory illnesses, and arrhythmias Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse specializing in MS/Telemetry. The shift is 3x12 hours, working nights from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM. The patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:6. Every other weekend is required. Floating within scope to meet facility needs is necessary. The unit is new, with 18 beds currently available. There is a bedside monitor with telemetry capabilities for blood pressure and pulse oximetry. Charge responsibilities are shared between stepdown and the MS/Telemetry unit. There is no off-shift management scheduled, but leadership will be available by phone. A supervisor provides 24/7 coverage. Local candidates within 60 miles will be considered at a lower rate. Travelers may need to accommodate block schedule requests, though approval is not guaranteed. All requests for time off must be included at the time of submission. Approval will be based on facility needs. Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season, all employees may be assigned to emergency response teams. Previous experience in community hospitals is preferred. The facility boasts a staffed bed capacity of 286. The patient age groups include adults and geriatrics. Daily patient census is variable. The unit receives interdisciplinary support from various services, including physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services. Common patient diagnoses include a range of chronic health conditions. Compliance with protocols regarding health and safety standards is expected.
