Quality Control Technician (Liquid Asphalt)

JobSummary: TheLiquidAsphaltQualityControlTechnicianisresponsibleforsampling,testing,andmonitoringliquidasphaltproductstoensuretheymeetcompanystandards,customerspecifications,andapplicableindustryrequirements.Thisrolesupportsplantoperations,fieldteams,andcustomersbyprovidingaccuratetestingresultsandmaintainingcompliancewithstateDOTandinternalqualityprograms. EssentialFunctions: Resultsmatter. Ensureasphaltbinderqualityandcompliancebycollectingandtestingliquidasphaltsamplesinaccordancewithcompanyproceduresandindustrystandards(AASHTO,ASTM,andapplicableDOTspecifications). Measurement. Verifyproductperformanceandspecificationcompliancebyconductinglaboratoryanalysesincludingviscosity,penetration,softeningpoint,PGgrading,andotherbinder-relatedtests. Obligated. Maintaintraceableandreliablequalitydocumentationbyaccuratelyrecordingtestresults,certifications,andrequiredlaboratoryrecords. Focused. Protectproductintegrityacrossoperationsbymonitoringasphaltqualityduringproduction,storage,andshipment. Ownershipandcaring. Enableinformedoperationaldecisionsbyclearlycommunicatinglaboratoryresultsandidentifyingpotentialqualityconcernstooperations,production,andmanagementteams. Honestyandtruth. Relevantexperienceinasphalt,constructionmaterialstesting,orlaboratoryqualitycontrolpreferred. Familiaritywithasphaltbindertestingmethods(AASHTO/ASTM)isaplus. Strongattentiontodetailandabilitytomaintainaccuratedocumentation. Abilitytoworkindependentlyandmanagemultipletasks. Proficiencywithbasiccomputerprograms(Excel,Word,dataentrysystems). Validdriver’slicenseandabilitytotraveltoterminalsorplantsasneeded. AuthorizedtoworkintheU.S. OtherDuties: Pleasenotethisjobdescriptionisnotdesignedtocoverorcontainacomprehensivelistingofactivities,dutiesorresponsibilitiesthatarerequiredoftheemployeeforthisjob.Duties,responsibilities,andactivitiesmaychangeatanytimewithorwithoutnotice. Travel: Positionmayrequireupto5%travelbypersonalvehicletoofficesthroughoutthestateofNewYork,andNewEnglandbasedontheneedsofthebusiness. WorkEnvironment/PhysicalDemands: Mediumworkthatincludesmovingobjectsupto50lbs.ormore.Abilitytoworkaroundhotmaterialsandinindustrialenvironments.Thispositionworksonornearmovingmechanicalpartsandloudequipment.Requirestheabilitytostandforextendedperiodsoftimeaswellaslifting,bending,squatting,walking,reaching,andperformingrepetitivemotions.Mustbeabletomaintainvisualfocusandmanualdexteritytosafelyoperateequipmentandperformdetailedtasks.Abilitytoworkinenvironmentswithexposuretoheat,odors,andindustrialmaterialswhilefollowingrequiredsafetyproceduresandwearingappropriatepersonalprotectiveequipment(PPE).
