This role allows for a mix of remote and office work and can be based in various office locations in California. Responsibilities

• Conducts thorough reviews and approvals of tax filings and handles complex tax audits.
• Acts as a specialist in a specific field or industry.
• Takes full accountability for larger tax filings and may assign tasks to other tax specialists as needed.
• Manages client relationships for assigned clients or those delegated by the Partner.
• Supervises and oversees tax audits; represents clients before tax authorities.
• Assists in recruitment, performance evaluations, and training of staff to ensure a competent team.
• Ensures timely and accurate completion of all tax filings.
• Manages billing processes effectively.
• Collaborates on special projects as requested by firm leadership.
• Evaluates tax software for firm recommendation.
• Participates in business development efforts through community involvement.

Qualifications

• Detailed understanding of current tax regulations.
• Proficiency in tax software and planning tools.
• Occasional overtime required, with heavier demands during tax season.
• Seven to ten years of progressive tax experience in public accounting.
• At least two years of representing clients before tax authorities.
• Minimum one year of supervisory experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, master’s in taxation preferred.
• Ongoing professional development and CPA license required.
• Active membership in AICPA.
