Whistler Partners is working with a leading global law firm looking to add an Innovation Attorney to its Technology & Information Services team. This is a rare opportunity for a lawyer who wants to sit at the intersection of legal practice, technology, product strategy, and client service. The role will serve as a bridge between practicing attorneys, firm leadership, clients, and technology teams to help identify, evaluate, and implement tools that improve how legal work gets done. The ideal candidate is a lawyer with strong legal practice experience, real interest in legal technology, and the ability to translate attorney and client needs into practical technology strategies. The role will involve working with practice group leadership, knowledge management lawyers, practice development teams, and technology professionals to evaluate needs, develop workflows, support pilots, and help integrate new tools into day-to-day legal practice. Key Responsibilities Serve as a connection point between practicing attorneys, clients, firm leadership, and technology teams. Work with practice groups to understand attorney and client technology needs. Help develop strategies to improve efficiency and integrate technology into legal workflows. Evaluate legal technology tools, generative AI solutions, and other emerging technologies. Assist with pilot programs, proofs of concept, product testing, and software evaluations. Draft specifications, assess products, and compare new tools against existing or peer solutions. Provide updates and analysis on legal technology trends and emerging tools. Support strategic deployment of technology-related policies, processes, and software solutions. Build relationships with legaltech vendors, industry organizations, and innovation thought leaders. Prepare and deliver technology presentations and trainings for attorneys. Participate in technology-related working groups and firm committees. Protect confidential, privileged, financial, and proprietary information. About You J.D. and admission to the relevant state bar. Minimum of 4 years of experience as a practicing lawyer, in a law firm, or in a legal operations role. Experience in a technology, innovation, legaltech, knowledge management, or legal operations role preferred. Understanding of product development and product management concepts, including user personas, user stories, scoping, requirements documentation, roadmap planning, UI/UX concepts, and user testing. Knowledge of legaltech product categories and emerging technology trends. Strong communication, presentation, writing, and analytical skills. Ability to work with attorneys, clients, firm leadership, technology teams, and external vendors. Comfort translating legal practice needs into practical technology and workflow solutions. Interest in generative AI, legal innovation, and the future of legal service delivery. Compensation Expected salary range: $220,000–$250,000, with bonus eligibility and a comprehensive benefits package.
