Collections Specialist

Location: Hackensack, NJ Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Pay Rate: $20.00 - $21.00 per hour (DOE) Employment Type: Full-Time | Onsite A well-established family-owned business in Hackensack, NJ is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Collections Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience managing accounts receivable, collecting outstanding balances, and working within QuickBooks to maintain accurate customer account records. Responsibilities Collections Specialist Contact customers regarding outstanding invoices and past-due accounts via phone and email Monitor accounts receivable aging reports and collection efforts Process customer payments and maintain accurate account records in QuickBooks Research and resolve billing discrepancies and payment issues Negotiate payment arrangements while maintaining positive customer relationships Document all collection activities and account updates Collaborate with internal departments to resolve account concerns Assist with general administrative and accounting support as needed Qualifications 2+ years of collections, accounts receivable, or related experience Required: Hands-on experience using QuickBooks Strong communication, negotiation, and customer service skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to manage multiple accounts and priorities effectively Strong problem-solving skills and professional demeanor What We Offer $20.00 - $21.00 per hour based on experience Stable Monday-Friday schedule (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM) Friendly, family-oriented work environment Supportive and collaborative team culture Opportunity for long-term growth and career stability All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, national origin, age, ancestry, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, marital status, disability, medical condition, genetic information, pregnancy, or military or veteran status.
