Pay Range: $15–23 per hour. Compensation is determined based on your experience and qualifications. In addition to base pay, you may be eligible for overtime, commission, performance‑based increases, and bonuses. Reports To: Location Manager. Status: Non‑Exempt. Purpose and Summary Statement In this role, you will operate single, tandem, or multi‑axle trucks to transport agronomy and energy products, crop production inputs, equipment, and supplies to and from company and customer locations, ensuring timely, safe deliveries while adhering to specified schedules to support profitable business growth. Essential Job Functions Operate and safely drive the assigned vehicle while transporting crop production input and energy products and supplies to farms, retail locations, and warehouses. Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on assigned vehicles and equipment, including pre‑trip safety checks, monitoring fluid levels, tires, and brakes, and reporting issues to the maintenance team. Inspect vehicles for mechanical issues and safety concerns while performing preventative maintenance. Maintain vehicle cleanliness. Load and unload containers, pallets, materials, and products onto trucks, trailers, and railcars using hand tools or forklifts; secure cargo, arrange and balance distribution, check axle weights, and ensure compliance with DOT regulations during loading. Load, transport, and unload agricultural equipment and machinery as needed. Ensure the vehicle complies with all state and federal regulations, including maintaining proper documentation and completing necessary inspections. Adhere to all safety protocols, including proper handling and transportation of hazardous materials. Pick up and transport goods promptly while interacting with customers in a professional and courteous manner to promote superior customer service and professionalism. Assist in the loading and unloading of crop production input and energy products, ensuring accurate inventory counts and proper storage. Plan and follow the most efficient routes for timely deliveries, considering traffic, weather, and road conditions. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, vehicle inspections, and any incidents or delays encountered during transport. Accurately complete, store, and submit all necessary documentation, including bills of lading, delivery slips, and invoices, returning them to the branch location at the end of the day to ensure timely processing and payment. Maintain accurate driving and delivery logs, including logbooks, cargo records, and other assigned record‑keeping tasks. Other Job Functions Follow GROWMARK’s Code of Conduct, Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA, and DOT policies and procedures as they apply. Maintain the assigned vehicle according to company standards. Maintain company equipment according to company standards. Comply with the uniform policy and uphold a professional appearance. Perform all other duties as assigned. Requirements Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in agronomy or energy transportation is preferred. Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). Basic mechanical skills for vehicle maintenance and inspections. Knowledge of safe handling and transportation of crop production input and energy products, including hazardous materials. Ability to operate heavy machinery and agricultural equipment. Functional Competencies Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a professional demeanor. High attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks. Ability to work effectively as part of a team and collaborate with teammates at all levels. Ability to identify and address issues proactively. Strong customer service skills, with the ability to interact professionally with customers and teammates. High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information. Core Competencies Demonstrated core competencies, including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision‑making, and skill development. Other Requirements Obtain a valid CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) with required endorsements (e.g., HazMat, Tanker) within six months of employment and maintain a clean driving record. Follow safety and compliance standards to help ensure your well‑being and the safety of others. Work hours may include non‑standard times throughout the year to meet deadlines and demands. Occasional travel to other company locations or industry events may be required, with the ability to travel independently and stay overnight as needed. Must participate in mandatory training, including education on GROWMARK’s policies and procedures and additional position‑specific mandatory training. Physical Demands Frequent handling of loads ranging from under 10 lbs. to 21–50 lbs.; occasional lifting of 51–100 lbs.; no lifting over 100 lbs. Daily tasks involve frequent bending, climbing, stair climbing, and working at heights, walking on normal, slippery, uneven surfaces, handling small parts, and repetitive motion with hands and feet. Exposure to cold, heat, dust, chemicals, high noise levels, and other workplace hazards as described.
