As a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department, your voice influences patient care through collaborative relationships with managers, hospital councils, and national nursing initiatives. Responsibilities Coordinate and deliver high‑quality, patient‑centered care in accordance with department requirements and state/specialty standards. Collaborate with medical providers and the care team to provide individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using established nursing models such as “Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.” Advocate for patients, families, and caregivers, modeling the organization’s vision, mission, and values to support an unparalleled patient experience. Regularly assess patient pain, promote effective pain management, and conduct reassessments after interventions. Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s). Document the administration of care in the patient medical record promptly and thoroughly. Respond promptly to patient requests, anticipating needs and resolving them proactively. Teach patients, families, and caregivers about medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, side effects, and follow‑up measures. Translate complex medical terminology to ensure complete understanding. Educate about non‑medicinal follow‑up measures such as healthy diet, exercise, disease prevention, and lifestyle changes to prepare for future self‑management. Qualifications Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification obtained within 60 days of employment start date. Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification obtained within 30 days of employment start date. Nonviolent Crisis Intervention certification obtained within 90 days of employment start date. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification obtained within 60 days of employment start date. Registered Nurse (RN) license. Registered Nurse diploma. 12‑hour night shift position.
