# Job Opportunity – Cardiac Telemetry Nurse – North Carolina

Start Date: October 19, 2026

Location: Wilmington, North Carolina

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Night shift, 36 hours per week, 13-26 week assignments available. Patient ratios 1:6 (varies by acuity). Weekend requirement: 4 shifts per 4-week period (flexible scheduling).

Highlights:

• Comprehensive cardiac care unit with diverse patient population including post-surgical cardiac, thoracic, and vascular patients
• Advanced procedures including TAVR, Watchman, CABG, valve replacements, and electrophysiology cases
• Epic EMR system with 24 hours of paid orientation
• Full interdisciplinary support including pharmacy, respiratory services, rapid response teams, and physical therapy
• Manages complex cardiac patients including sheath removal, cardiac drips with titration, and dysrhythmia management
• Unit follows standard float rotation – not first to float

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of cardiac floor experience required
• Travel nursing experience required unless candidate has 24+ months of cardiac experience
• Active RN license (North Carolina or Compact state license accepted)
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
• Required skills: Cardiac telemetry, stepdown/PCU experience, sheath removal, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, post-MI and cardiac cath care, cardiac drip management and titration, chest tube management, BiPAP/CPAP, non-invasive airway management
• Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
• Willingness to be assigned to Storm/Hurricane Team during catastrophic events or disasters

Preferred Qualifications:

• Arterial line management experience
• Wound care and wound vac experience
• Charge nurse experience
• Epic charting system familiarity

Patient Population:

• Adult and geriatric patients with diagnoses including atrial fibrillation, CHF, acute coronary syndrome, cardiomyopathy, endocarditis, peripheral vascular disease, carotid stenosis, and post-procedural cardiac patients
• 43-room unit with 44-bed capacity and average daily census of 41 patients
