Job Summary Senior Consultant, Technology Innovation Analyst (TIA) in Nationwide Commercial IT. This highly strategic, high‑visibility role shapes the future state of Middle Market Underwriting segments, translating complex business challenges into scalable, enterprise‑ready solutions and driving meaningful transformation. Key Responsibilities Translate ambiguous business challenges into strategic, fundable initiatives. Lead end‑to‑end shaping of large, cross‑functional programs. Influence enterprise priorities, investment decisions, and product strategy. Establish and mature practices across teams and initiatives. Deliver innovative, technology‑driven solutions that create measurable business value. Own the portfolio of technology initiatives in collaboration with senior leaders. Apply secure software and systems engineering practices throughout the delivery lifecycle. Explore the industry for relevant technology developments and identify innovation opportunities. Quantify benefits and develop business‑case for technology transformation efforts. Evaluate and prioritize business critical requests, adjusting existing roadmaps or delivering improvements through small projects. Execute complex projects that result in recommendations to change business processes and improve resource efficiency. Lead technology strategic planning, gather high‑level business requirements, and facilitate large group or cross‑functional sessions. Maintain knowledge of multiple business functions and initiatives, identify conflicts or synergies, and drive roadmap updates. Manage initial vendor relationships and maintain a forward‑looking view of vendor direction. Demonstrate expertise on current and future directions of relevant industry and technologies, recommending implementation of new or upgraded systems. Lead planning efforts and collaborate with top business leaders to conduct complex analysis and build deliverables. Perform other responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications & Experience Undergraduate degree in computer science, management information systems, or related field (preferred). More than 10 years of experience delivering technology‑enabled business solutions and transformational change across industries, especially in insurance or financial services. Extensive consulting experience with a 30:70 ratio of business to technology focus, including delivery, cost of ownership, roadmap development, and business‑case execution. Advanced expertise in requirements strategy, backlog leadership, and facilitation of complex discussions. Proven ability to lead large, ambiguous initiatives with minimal direction. Strong track record of influencing executive stakeholders and investment decisions. Exceptional communication, storytelling, and stakeholder alignment skills. Strategic mindset with the ability to connect vision to execution. Passion for innovation, transformation, and continuous improvement. Middle‑Market knowledge and experience in underwriting segments. Key Skills Master analytical and communication skills with strong planning knowledge. Ability to influence, build relationships, negotiate, and set priorities. Strong executive presence. Industry knowledge in insurance/financial services a plus.
