Youth Care SpecialistAutism Respite House: St. Louis, MO Schedule: This weekend position requires availability for evening and overnight shifts.Experience preferred but not requiredJob SummaryAs a Youth Care Specialist, you will provide for the physical and emotional needs of the clients assigned to your cottage and facilitate a healthy group living experience. You will also participate in a multi-disciplinary treatment team in the care of clients. This position is a great start to gain experience in the mental health/social services fields!ResponsibilitiesProvide for the physical and emotional needs of clients, including:Providing meals and snacksAssisting with personal careMonitoring medicationIntervening in crisis situationsFacilitate a healthy group living experience, including:Creating a positive and supportive environmentManaging conflictEnforcing house rulesParticipate in a multi-disciplinary treatment team in the care of clients, including attending treatment team meetings and providing input on treatment plansQualifications:High school diploma or GED equivalencyClass E driver's license with good driving recordStrong customer service focusExcellent time managementOral and written communication skillsWord, Excel, and e-mail applications proficiencyMust be 21 years old to applyPre-employment drug screen, physical, and background check requiredWhy KVC?KVC is a nonprofit child placing and behavioral health agency with a long legacy of compassionately serving children and families.
