Role Overview The Drain Technician is responsible for meeting with customers to identify and diagnose specific drain/sewer piping concerns, getting the line(s) flowing and advising customers on next steps including a camera inspection. Drain Technicians produce quality, on‑time inspections and the clearing/installation of plumbing related jobs to meet the requirements of our customer agreement and in accordance with local plumbing codes. Essential Functions Ensure safety of self, employer vehicles, equipment, and customer homes. Work independently with little supervision in the completion of assignments. Perform drain clearing at customer homes and provide an overall assessment of known systems. Provide guidance to homeowners on next steps to permanently repair sewer lines. Work efficiently and keep job areas clean and organized. Collaborate closely with Camera Technician, Dispatch, and Sewer Supervisor to provide customer solutions. Represent the company professionally in public settings and demonstrate company ethics. Maintain a customer‑oriented focus. Communicate politely and effectively with customers and in front of them. Work as part of a team with managers and other departments. Participate in and attend department meetings. Apply knowledge of sewer systems, repair, and installation using standard tools, machinery, and equipment. Write with technical accuracy, ensuring quality and clarity of documentation. Apply and monitor appropriate safety practices and procedures, reporting violations to the Sewer Supervisor. Skills and Abilities Thorough knowledge of all sewer systems. Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Assist in evaluating assigned installation team personnel on job performance and provide field coaching as necessary. Adhere to and demonstrate company policies with team members. Diagnostic and analytical skills. Work well under pressure. Effective communication with customers, install team members, dispatch, and management.
