You can keep track of your progress in the selection process as well as stay updated on new positions that might interest you. **Shift**10-hour shifts, M-F**Scheduled Weekly Hours**40**POSITION PURPOSE****:** A licensed plumber installs, repairs, and maintains plumbing systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. Works under the guidelines of the Illinois State Plumbing Code in addition to the local building codes and regulations.**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS****:*** Possess a solid understanding of water distribution, sanitary and disposal systems in healthcare, commercial and residential structures.* Install, repair, and maintain pipes, valves, fittings, drain systems, and fixtures (such as sinks, toilets, and water heaters) in healthcare, commercial and residential structures.* Performs routine maintenance and emergency repairs.* Designs piping layouts and installs piping systems in renovation and new construction projects.* Collaborates with general contractors, electricians, and other professionals during construction.* Perform routine inspections of plumbing and drain systems, identifying and diagnosing plumbing problems using appropriate tools and techniques.* Possess a working knowledge of all local and state plumbing building codes and regulations.* Ensure all work meets safety standards and follows best practices.* Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose plumbing challenges accordingly.* Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to understand or plan layout of waste disposal and water supply systems.* Familiarity with the intricacies of working with PVC, CPVC, PEX, cast iron, and copper piping.* Attention to detail and ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.* Proficiency in basic mathematics and measurement conversion.* Possesses strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.* An integral member of the Plant Operations and Maintenance construction team.**SPECIALIZED KNOW-HOW & REQUIREMENTS*** High school diploma or GED certificate* Illinois State Plumbing License* 1-3 years’ experience as a journeyman plumber* Valid driver’s license**Compensation Range**$30.00 - $45.00**Available Benefits for Benefit Eligible Positions**Health and Dental InsuranceIMRF (Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund)Retirement Fund (457 and 401A Plan)Medical and Dependent Care Flexible SpendingLife InsuranceShort and Long Term DisabilityOptional InsurancesPaid Time OffTuition Reimbursement and Loan ForgivenessGift Shop DiscountCGH Day Care DiscountCGH Dietary DiscountEmployee Assistance ProgramCGH Pharmacy DiscountCGH Vision Center DiscountThank you for your interest in a career at CGH Medical Center.
