Senior Scientist - Supply Analytical Sciences (SAS)

Senior Scientist position in Supply Analytical Sciences at Merck's Rahway facility. The role involves analytical chemistry work for API and drug product development, including method development, troubleshooting, and regulatory support within a multidisciplinary team.
Responsibilities
- Author analytical procedures, development and validation protocols, technical reports, and regulatory submission documents
- Perform investigations and troubleshooting of analytical issues related to API and drug substance manufacture
- Provide technical documentation and input during regulatory inspections, audits, and internal reviews
- Evaluate analytical methods for critical quality attributes of cGMP materials
- Train staff on analytical techniques and problem-solving approaches as needed
Requirements
- Master's in Chemistry or related field with 8+ years pharmaceutical development experience, or PhD in Analytical Chemistry with 2+ years experience
- Working knowledge of analytical techniques for raw materials, intermediates, and drug substances testing
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with flexibility in dynamic environments
- Advanced knowledge of ALCOA+ principles and data integrity
- Self-motivated with ownership and accountability for driving issues to completion
- Ability to adapt quickly to changes and develop risk management plans
- Willingness to travel on company behalf
Compensation: $117,000.00 - $184,200.00 base
