This role focuses on operating a cherry picker and other powered industrial trucks within a busy distribution center to support receiving, put-away, and order fulfillment activities. You will use RF scanners and computer systems to accurately move, store, and retrieve products for shipping while maintaining high safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Operate cherry pickers, reach forklifts, forklifts, and electric pallet jacks to move, store, and retrieve products throughout the distribution center.
• Work in the receiving department to unload, organize, and put away incoming products using RF scanners and warehouse systems.
• Use RF scanners and computer-based systems to accurately locate, pick, and stage products for customer orders and outbound shipments.
• Perform order picking and order selection tasks with a high level of accuracy, ensuring the correct items and quantities are pulled for shipping.
• Handle inventory by scanning, counting, and verifying products to support accurate stock levels and inventory control.
• Maintain a high level of attention to detail to ensure correct labeling, placement, and documentation of products.
• Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety guidelines when operating powered industrial trucks and handling materials.
• Work at heights of approximately 15–20 feet while operating cherry pickers and accessing racking systems safely and confidently.
• Lift, carry, pull, and push materials weighing 40–70 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds occasionally as part of daily tasks.
• Remain on your feet for most of the shift, performing frequent walking, standing, bending, stooping, and reaching.
• Participate in on-the-job training and recertification on forklifts and other equipment as required by the employer.
• Work independently to complete assigned tasks and use problem-solving skills to address issues that arise during picking, receiving, or inventory activities.
• Support team goals by staying until daily orders are completed, including working weekday and weekend overtime when required.
• Contribute to a safe work environment by using monitoring tools and following ergonomic and safety practices to reduce the risk of injury.

• Experience operating a cherry picker and other powered industrial trucks such as forklifts, reach forklifts, and electric pallet jacks.
• Proficiency using RF scanners and warehouse systems to put away, locate, and pull products for shipping.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Ability to read and write in English to follow instructions, SOPs, and safety guidelines.
• General warehouse experience, preferably in a picking or order selection department.
• Forklift certification or willingness to obtain forklift certification, with prior experience operating a powered industrial truck, preferably a cherry picker.
• Experience using computers and scanning equipment in a warehouse environment.
• Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in all tasks.
• Ability to work independently and demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities.
• Physical ability to lift, carry, pull, and push 40–70 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds occasionally.
• Comfort working at heights of 15–20 feet on racking systems while operating a cherry picker.
• Willingness to work weekday and weekend overtime as required to complete daily orders.

• Previous experience in a distribution center or warehouse handling receiving, picking, and shipping activities.
• Prior experience as an order selector or order picker using RF scanners and inventory systems.
• Familiarity with standard operating procedures (SOPs) in a warehouse or logistics environment.
• Existing forklift certification and experience with multiple types of powered industrial trucks.
• Comfort using wearable safety and monitoring devices designed to promote safe movement and reduce injury.
• Openness to ongoing training and performance feedback to continuously improve skills and productivity.

Work Environment

The role is based in a distribution center that handles scientific equipment destined for school science rooms, hospitals, and medical laboratories. The facility employs approximately 100–120 people, organized into receiving, picking, and shipping teams. You will primarily work in the receiving and picking areas and will spend most of your shift on a cherry picker, operating at heights of 15–20 feet on racking systems. The position follows a Monday–Friday schedule from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with employees often working 10-hour days early in the week and averaging around 45 hours, staying until daily orders are completed. The work is physically active, involving frequent walking, standing, bending, stooping, and reaching, as well as regular lifting of medium to heavy items. You will use RF scanners, computers, forklifts, reach trucks, electric pallet jacks, and other powered industrial trucks, and you will receive recertification and on-the-job training for this equipment. The environment emphasizes safety, ergonomics, and teamwork, supported by monitoring tools designed to help reduce workplace injuries.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Nazareth, PA.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
