Air Dominance and Strike Mechanical Design Engineers own the full development lifecycle, from concept generation, to integration and flight test, ensuringhigh-performance, resilient, and scalable mechanical systems that meet the demands ofcomplex, contested. WHAT YOU'LL DODesign and develop aircraft fuel systems supporting multiple air vehicle programs from concept through testing and qualificationPerform detailed design of fuel system components including tubing, pumps, filtration, gauging, venting, and refueling/defueling systemsPartner with software engineering, systems, testing, manufacturing, suppliers, and cross-functional engineering teams to develop and integrate fuel system hardwareSupport component selection, prototype builds, qualification, testing, and system integration throughout the development lifecycleCollaborate with senior engineers and fuel systems architects while gradually taking ownership of increasingly complex fuel system designsREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSB.S. in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience8+ years of experience designing aircraft fuel systems or closely related aerospace fluid systemsExperience supporting the product lifecycle from concept through testing and qualificationExperience with Siemens NX or comparable CAD software (e.g., CATIA, Creo, SolidWorks)Strong understanding of fluid mechanics and mechanical design fundamentalsExcellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skillsEligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret Security ClearancePREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSExperience working with suppliers, component selection, or prototype developmentExperience with one-dimensional fluid analysis tools such as AMESIM, Flowmaster, Easy5, or similar softwareActive U.S. Secret or Top Secret Security ClearanceUS Salary Range$166,000—$220,000 USDThe salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only.
