We have a proven track record in completing projects to full customer satisfaction as a result of our strong work ethic, safety record, and a commitment to outstanding client services.What can you expect?As the Project Engineer I, you will work on-site in Anchorage and be responsible for assisting the Construction Management Team with field project management in locations throughout Alaska and the Pacific Northwest.How will you do it?Assist the Construction Team including the Construction Manager, Project Manager, Quality Control, and Superintendent with job related tasks.Assist with management, execution, and documentation of projects.Assist with completion of daily project reporting including timekeeping; environmental and permit compliance; daily reports.Assist with documenting daily work conditions.Assist with creating and filing project reports including inspection reports; job diaries, photographs, and video logs; and subcontractor reports as needed. Prepare correspondence as needed.Assist Construction Superintendent with updates to project schedule.Maintains effective communication and coordination among all project participants. Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.Perform other duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities:This position may direct the work of craft and other project workers as needed and directed.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:Knowledge of job costing and accounting procedures preferred. Knowledge of computer-based construction and scheduling programs preferred.Ability to professionally and effectively communicate with employees, business partners, and clients via written and verbal communication methods.Ability to work independently and work cooperatively with others; ability to work with employees, business partners, and customers in a friendly and positive manner.Ability to visualize, articulate, and solve complex problems and concepts, and make decisions based on available information. Ability to use judgment and discretion.Ability to handle stressful situations and effectively plan and organize duties to meet deadlines.Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.Ability to work with concentration, accuracy, and attention to detail.Ability to analyze and resolve complex issues, both logical and interpersonal.Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings.Ability to work a flexible schedule.Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.Ability to operate a motor vehicle in a safe and efficient manner.Ability to interpret and communicate project plans and drawings.Should have adequate knowledge of database software, spreadsheet software, scheduling software, job costing software and word processing software. Microsoft packages preferred.Who is Brice Environmental Services looking for?Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management or science discipline required.One to five years construction experience required. Valid state driver’s license and must be qualified to operate a vehicle under the conditions of Brice Environmental’s Driving Policy.Ability to pass a drug, driving and background screenings.Ability to travel and work in remote locations.Preferred Qualifications:Additional degree credits in business preferred.Engineer-in-Training certificate preferred.Alaska construction experience preferred.Experience with SWPPP inspections preferred.CESCL certification preferred.Prefer experience with AutoCAD, Inventor, Civil 3D, Microsoft Projects, HCSS Heavy Job, Trimble Surveying Software.WORKING ENVIRONMENT:The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Brice Environmental Services has a fast-paced multi-tasking office environment requiring a high degree of efficient and effective performance. At times, work is performed outside of the office at indoor and outdoor job sites.
