Location New Orleans, LA Job Category Manufacturing & Production Division Laitram Machine Shop Job Overview Laitram Machine Shop provides high-value machining and related services to the Laitram divisions and select outside customers. They are currently looking for a Saw/Press Operator to join our team. Responsibilities Operate CNC and manual saws efficiently with minimal or no scrap, following production schedules, shop orders, and drawings per department SOP Review and understand drawings, routings, material and work instructions prior to production to prevent or reduce scrap Transact, issue, prepare and deliver completed product per department SOP Complete all transactions efficiently and correctly Safely and efficiently move material and equipment with the use of overhead cranes or forklifts Recommend and complete SOP for process improvements Complete 5S initiatives, keeping the department organized and clean daily It is essential that this position is performed at the facility Requirements Experience using manufacturing equipment Experience operating a forklift Must be self‑managed with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues Work flexible or overtime hours to meet production schedules Safely and efficiently use overhead cranes and forklifts to perform daily job functions Mechanically inclined with basic math skills Must be able to work under the stress of deadlines and meeting downstream customer dates Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills with attention to detail Must be computer literate with the use of Microsoft Word and Outlook Must be able to perform the essential job requirements identified in the Functional Job Description for this position, including the ability to lift and move 47 lbs Desired Press operating experience CNC and manual saw operating experience Work experience in a manufacturing environment EEO Statement EOE/M/F/Vet/Disabled #J-18808-Ljbffr
