Marketing and Surgeon Engagement Manager

Position Title: Marketing and Surgeon Engagement Manager Reports To: CEO Location: Santa Ana, CA (On-site) Employment Type: Full-Time, W2 Salary Range: $85,000 – $105,000, commensurate with experience Benefits: Health Insurance, 401K with match, PTO Position Summary GS Medical is a fast-growing spine implant company headquartered in Orange County, California. We are looking for a motivated and versatile professional to manage our marketing initiatives, surgeon engagement activities, and HCP compliance responsibilities. This is a multi-functional role that sits at the intersection of marketing, clinical outreach, and surgeon relations — ideal for someone who thrives in a small company environment, enjoys wearing multiple hats, and wants to grow with a company that is actively expanding its national footprint. This role reports directly to the CEO and works closely with the sales and clinical teams to support territory development, surgeon relationship management, and brand growth across all GS Medical markets. 1.Marketing Manage and grow GS Medical’s social media presence across all platforms including LinkedIn, Instagram, and other relevant channels — creating content, scheduling posts, and tracking engagement. Develop and execute marketing outreach campaigns targeting surgeons, hospitals, and healthcare professionals in target markets. Create and maintain marketing materials including product brochures, case study summaries, conference materials, and digital content. Coordinate conference participation, trade show presence, and industry event logistics. Monitor competitive landscape and provide regular updates on competitor marketing activity and market trends. Support the development of educational content for surgeon training, cadaver labs, and product launches. 2.Surgeon Relations and Engagement Serve as a primary point of contact for surgeon communication, maintaining active and professional relationships with GS Medical’s surgeon accounts and key opinion leaders. Coordinate surgeon outreach including meeting requests, follow-up communications, product feedback collection, and educational program invitations. Manage surgeon advisory board and design group communications, scheduling, and documentation. Organize and coordinate surgeon dinners, fellow and resident meetings, and other surgeon engagement events. Support cadaver lab planning and execution in coordination with the sales and clinical teams. Maintain accurate records of all surgeon interactions, meeting notes, and follow-up action items. 3.HCP Compliance and Documentation Ensure all surgeon and healthcare professional engagements are conducted in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies — including Sunshine Act / Open Payments requirements. Manage and maintain HCP consulting agreements, speaker agreements, and advisory board contracts in coordination with leadership. Track and report all HCP transfers of value including meals, travel, honoraria, and event costs in compliance with federal reporting requirements. Maintain organized and audit-ready records of all surgeon engagement activities and associated documentation. Stay current on relevant compliance regulations and proactively communicate any policy updates to the team. 4.Team Collaboration and Reporting Actively participate in GS Medical’s group communication channels — GS Team, GS Sales, and GS Case Coverage — sharing relevant updates and coordinating with the field team. Provide regular updates to leadership on marketing performance, surgeon engagement activity, and compliance status. Collaborate with the sales team to align marketing and surgeon engagement activities with territory development priorities. Support onboarding of new sales representatives with marketing materials and surgeon introduction coordination. Qualifications Required 3 or more years of experience in marketing, surgeon relations, HCP engagement, or a related role within the medical device or healthcare industry. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage professionally with surgeons and clinical staff. Proficiency in social media management, content creation, and digital marketing tools. Familiarity with HCP compliance requirements including Sunshine Act / Open Payments reporting. Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities simultaneously. Comfortable working independently in a small company environment with limited oversight. Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communications, Life Sciences, or a related field. Preferred Experience in spine, orthopedics, or surgical medical device marketing. Existing relationships with spine surgeons or OR clinical staff. Experience managing consulting or speaker bureau agreements and HCP documentation. Familiarity with cadaver lab coordination or surgical education programs.
