About the role As a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) at BioLife Plasma Services, you will support daily plasma collection operations, ensuring donor safety and compliance with industry regulations. You will report to the Plasma Center Manager and work under the Center Physician for medical oversight. Responsibilities Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, medical history interview, and physical examination. Perform blood testing, review serological and laboratory test results, and notify donors of unsuitable results. Evaluate and manage donor reactions per Standard Operating Procedures, including emergency care coordination. Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or medical/technical guidance. Support employee health initiatives such as Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccinations. Manage employee incidents and coordinate further evaluation with occupational health and EHS guidance. Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized, supporting local pandemic investigations per EHS or Medical Affairs directives. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent, including completion of a recognized nursing program. Current state licensure or certification relevant to the assigned duties (e.g., EMT-Paramedic). Current CPR and AED certification. Basic IV therapy certification as required by state licensure. Completion of FDA‑approved training for the BioLife Medical Support Specialist role. At least two years of clinical or hospital experience. Compensation & Benefits Hourly wage range: $24.32 – $33.44 (USD); actual compensation depends on qualifications, experience, and location.
