Overview The Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) supports plasma center operations at BioLife Plasma Services, a subsidiary of Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Ltd. The role reports to the Plasma Center Manager and performs under the guidance of the Center Physician for medical issues, ensuring compliance with plasma collection regulations, standards, and safety procedures. Responsibilities Determine donor eligibility and manage donor adverse events. Conduct medical history interviews, informed consent, physical examinations, blood testing, and review serological protein electrophoresis (SPE). Evaluate donor reactions per SOPs and manage medical emergencies, including standing orders and donor transfer to emergency care. Collaborate with the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for findings or medical guidance. Support Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees. Manage employee incidents and consult occupational health/EHS where needed. Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and investigate pandemic threats. Qualifications High school diploma or graduate equivalency of a recognized educational nursing program; state licensure as Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP), or Physician Assistant (PA). Current CPR and AED certification. State licensure for basic IV therapy. Completion of FDA-approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist. At least two years experience in a clinical or hospital setting. Compensation & Benefits Hourly wage: $33.44 – $45.98. The actual wage will depend on qualifications, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.
