Customer Service Representative

Job Summary We are seeking a Customer Service Representative for a contract opportunity supporting a healthcare services program focused on health insurance marketplace assistance. This remote Customer Service Representative role is ideal for someone who enjoys helping people, answering questions, and guiding consumers through application, eligibility, enrollment, and account update processes. This position offers paid training, a structured remote work environment, and the opportunity to build valuable call center and healthcare customer service experience. You will work with a supportive team, receive clear guidance during training, and contribute to an important program that helps residents access health insurance coverage. Key Responsibilities Answer inbound customer calls and provide professional, accurate, and courteous service. Assist consumers with health insurance applications, enrollment questions, eligibility inquiries, and account updates. Process life event changes and update customer information in internal systems. Document customer interactions clearly and accurately according to program requirements. Provide information through phone, email, or mail while following established procedures. Escalate complex issues to the appropriate team when additional support is needed. Compensation and Benefits Pay: $17.00 per hour. Job Type: Contract/Temporary. Work Location: Remote, work from home Paid Training: 3 weeks, Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM ET. Residency Period: 2 weeks, Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM ET, with possible shift to 8:30 AM-5:00 PM ET. Current Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM ET. Open Enrollment Schedule: Hours may extend up to 8:00 PM ET from November through January and may include select weekends. Candidates must be available to work December 14-15 and January 15. 100% attendance is required during training and residency. Required Qualifications and Skills Support customers by phone with health insurance marketplace questions, enrollment support, and application updates. Accurately document customer interactions and maintain updated records in company systems. Follow program procedures, meet attendance expectations, and escalat Work successfully in a remote call center environment with required equipment and reliable connectivity. High School Diploma or GED required. 6 months to 2 years of customer service, call center, administrative support, or related experience. Strong communication, active listening, phone, and customer service skills. Accurate data entry and basic computer skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism and attention to detail. Private, quiet workspace free from distractions. Personal computer that meets BYOD requirements. Webcam required. Wired USB headset required. Bluetooth headsets are not permitted. Reliable wired home internet required. Cellular internet providers such as T-Mobile Home Internet or Verizon Mobile Internet are not accepted. Chromebook and mobile devices are not supported. Background check required. Must use legal name for all hiring documentation. Preferred Qualifications Previous remote call center experience. Experience supporting healthcare, health insurance, benefits, enrollment, or marketplace-related programs. Familiarity with documenting customer interactions in CRM or case management systems. Ability to remain calm, organized, and empathetic while assisting customers with sensitive or detailed information.
