Large Water Meter Specialist

The Large Water Meter Specialist is responsible for the installation and repair of indoor/outdoor commercial and industrial size meters. Essential Job Functions Installing, replacing, reading, testing and repairing large commercial and industrial water meters 2"-10" using basic hand tools, tape measures, grinders, saws, ventilators, tripods, pumps, gas monitors, and air‑tools. Assisting in maintaining an inventory of meters of various sizes and repair parts, and resolving customer complaints. Conducting inspections of meters to ensure proper functioning and assisting in testing large meters for accuracy. Maintaining the vehicle by replacing necessary tools and parts, and notifying the supervisor of any service or repair needs. Entering confined space areas regularly to perform the above duties. Working scheduled overtime outside of normal working hours. Minimum Qualifications Applicants must have a High School diploma or GED. A valid Ohio Driver’s license with a safe driving record and a drug screening are required. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Applicants should have knowledge of Confined Space Entry, GIS, City Works and EPA guidelines, ability to follow safety standards, interact with customers and various departments, demonstrate initiative, exercise basic judgement and logic, and consistently deliver general customer service in a professional fashion. This position may require overtime, shift, weekend and holiday work, as well as flexible hours and rotating days. Job Type Full Time Pay $20.40 – $34.51/hr.
