(Busser/Expo) Staff Support

Job Summary:

We’re seeking a reliable, customer-focused Hourly Restaurant Team Assistant to support all Front-of-House (FOH) duties. As an Hourly Restaurant Team Assistant you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient flow across host, serving, expo, and busser tasks to ensure smooth service and an exceptional guest experience. Your primary responsibility will be to coordinate and communicate between the kitchen staff, and management to deliver exceptional service to our guests. This position requires excellent multitasking skills, a strong sense of urgency, and a passion for delivering high-quality food and service.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Greet guests warmly and acknowledge them promptly.
• Manage reservations, wait lists, and seating arrangements with a positive attitude.
• Assist guests with questions about menus, specials, and dietary accommodations.
• Maintain an organized, welcoming host station.
• Monitor dining room flow and communicate wait times to guests accurately.
• Seat guests according to the restaurant’s seating plan and accessibility needs.
• Deliver food and beverages to tables in a timely, professional manner.
• Refill drinks, clear dishes, and respond promptly to guest requests.
• Upsell daily specials and promote beverage or dessert offerings when appropriate.
• Act as a liaison between kitchen staff and service staff to ensure accurate order transmission.
• Confirm order accuracy, timing, and plating before service to tables.
• Communicate any menu changes, allergies, or substitutions clearly to the kitchen and servers.
• Clear and reset tables efficiently between guest seatings.
• Reset utensils, glassware, and table settings to maintain a clean dining area.
• Assist with side work and reset stations during slower periods.
• Work closely with servers, hosts, and management to maintain a high level of service.
• Follow restaurant safety, sanitation, and hospitality standards.
• Demonstrate professionalism, reliability, and a positive team attitude.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Food safety knowledge, including familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices, along with an understanding of proper food storage, handling, and hygiene procedures. Ability to follow sanitation protocols, including proper handwashing and appropriate glove use
• Previous experience in a restaurant environment is preferred but not required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and a guest-service mindset.
• Flexibility to work during peak hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds as needed.
• Basic knowledge of food and beverage service etiquette.

Education and Experience:

• Must be at least sixteen years old.
• Previous Experience: Prior experience as a Expo or in a similar role within the hospitality industry is preferred but not required. We are willing to train motivated individuals.

Physical Requirements:

• Capable of standing for extended periods, lifting and carrying trays, and performing tasks that involve bending, stooping, and reaching.
• Must be able to lift at least 15 pounds.

Compensation details: 12.5-12.5 Hourly Wage
