CNC Programmer

We are currently working with a family-owned manufacturing company seeking a CNC Programmer to join their Madison, WI location. Our client is a family-owned manufacturer, who is known for their strong culture and long-tenured workforce, that has been serving customers for nearly 50 years

What's the role?

The CNC Programmer is responsible for interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and CAD/CAM files to create accurate CNC programs that support high-quality manufacturing operations. This role works closely with machinists, engineers, and cross-functional teams to develop, test, and optimize machining processes while ensuring efficiency, precision, and quality standards are met. In this role, you'll develop and optimize G-code programs for multi-axis machining centers, select appropriate tooling and fixtures, perform first-piece quality inspections, and troubleshoot machining issues. You'll also help improve manufacturing processes, reduce cycle times and scrap rates, maintain program documentation, and support new product introductions and prototype development. What experience and skills do I need to be successful?

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Associate's degree in CNC Programming, a computer-related field, or a mechanical field preferred
• Experience with CNC programming and knowledge of machine tools and electronics
• Ability to create and optimize CNC programs and G-code
• Experience using CAD software such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders
• Experience setting up and operating CNC equipment
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Experience working with ERP systems is a plus
• Ability to collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and production teams

This is a full-time, onsite role working within a manufacturing and office environment in Madison, WI.
