Home daily with average weekly pay of $1,350–$1,450 on a dedicated local container route. Drivers operate between Freeport, Houston, and surrounding areas.
Pay & Benefits
- $20 per hour
- $30 per hour after 40 hours
- Average $70,000–$76,000 annually
- $500 transition bonus paid on the second paycheck
Job Details
- Home daily
- Work 5–6 days per week
- Primarily Monday through Friday
- Must work at least one weekend day
- Start times between 3:00 AM and 7:00 AM
- Average 10–12 hour shifts
- Day and night driving based on dispatch
- Refrigerated container freight
- Drop-and-hook plus live load and unload
- Late-model day cabs and sleeper tractors
Requirements
- Valid Class A CDL
- Six months of container or tanker experience within the last three years
- Limited openings may accept six months of tractor-trailer experience
- TWIC card required or must obtain one during the first week
- Must live within 30 miles of Freeport, TX
- Must be comfortable connecting and inspecting 10–12 containers or chassis per day
- No pets, passengers, or smoking
