About the Role
The Company is seeking a VP of Development to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for working with both internal and external partners to create and lead the development of unique environments that align with the company's retail merchandising and community vision. This role involves overseeing the entire development process, from financial analysis to political approvals, design, marketing, and construction. The VP of Development will also be involved in coordinating with various disciplines within the organization, developing and managing budgets, schedules, and bid processes, as well as engaging with communities and municipalities to secure entitlements. Applicants for the VP of Development position at the company should have a strong desire to create spaces that foster community, and the ability to contribute to corporate decisions and strategic plans. The role requires a minimum of 7 years' of experience in the real estate industry, with a preference for candidates holding a Bachelor's degree. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional project management skills, be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and have a strong work ethic. Proficiency in financial analysis, particularly in Excel, is essential. The VP of Development will be expected to have a proven track record of managing real estate development projects, conducting market analysis, and evaluating the feasibility of new development sites. Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills are also a must, as is the ability to work under pressure and solve problems throughout the development process.
