Job Description Summary Responds to service calls to evaluate, diagnose, and perform repair and planned maintenance (PM) on complex customer biomedical equipment. Drives customer satisfaction through Service Excellence. May function as a Site Leader. Responsibilities Evaluate complex customer biomedical equipment issues and implement appropriate repairs. Perform planned maintenance, safety, and environmental inspections. Maintain effective customer relations and communicate proactively with customers to ensure resolution. Lead, instruct, and assist technicians on both basic and complex repairs. Delegate tasks and perform administrative duties as a member of the local team. Share on‑call responsibility and provide help, share best practices, and mentor others. Document all repair actions and submit reports/summaries on schedule. Ensure proper care of spares, tools, and test equipment, including calibration. Maintain approved parts inventory and manage vendor service delivery processes in compliance with GE policies. Enhance and maintain technical knowledge of current standards, codes, and procedures through formal instruction. May perform the role of Site Leader, directing activities of BMETs, engaging in customer relationships, and participating in Safety Committees. Meet Health and Human Services, Environmental Health and Safety requirements, and all applicable regulatory requirements. Qualifications Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field; OR High School Diploma/GED with 6+ years of experience servicing medical equipment; OR equivalent military education with 4+ years of experience servicing medical equipment. Proficiency in electronic documentation using technological tools (e.g., iPad, iPhone) and familiar with Microsoft Office. Experience developing and maintaining good customer relations at all levels (e.g., nurses, doctors, leadership). Experience interfacing with both internal team members and external customers as part of a solution‑based service process. Strong communication skills; ability to explain technical issues to customers in an easy‑to‑understand manner. Ability to work independently and collaboratively to implement solutions through problem solving. Must comply with GEHC's standard background check, including a post‑offer drug test, and with customer access policies (immunizations, additional drug or background checks as required). Special Physical Requirements Candidate must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 35 lbs unassisted and frequently bend, stoop, twist, climb, crouch/squat, kneel/crawl, sit, and stand for long periods. Must also be able to reach at, above, and below shoulder level, flex and extend the neck, and have good hand and finger dexterity. Specific vision abilities may include color vision and close vision.
