VP National Field Sales- State and Local Government

Job Summary

The Vice President, State & Local Government Sales owns the overall business and commercial strategy for Medline’s State & Local Government business, with responsibility for driving growth, developing new markets, and expanding Medline’s presence across the public sector. The business serves state and local government agencies, public health organizations, higher education and research institutions, municipalities, and correctional facilities. This leader will translate business strategy into action, align teams across Medline around key priorities, and build strong customer partnerships. The VP will help shape Medline’s long-term position within the State & Local Government market.

Job Description

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: Create innovative programs and strategies for customers to differentiate Medline in the marketplace. Participate in overall product strategy and conceptual program development. Establish sales objectives by forecasting and developing annual sales quotas for regions and territories; project expected sales volume and profit for existing new products. Maintain national sales team results by coaching and motivating employees, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results. Track sales team metrics, monitoring sales volume, product mix, and selling price by keeping current with supply and demand, changing trends, economic indicators, and competitors. Participate in overall product strategy and conceptual program development. Identifying/monitoring market trends that affect sales, service, and product development. Management responsibilities include: Typically, manages through multiple Managers. Provides leadership and management to one or more major departments of an operating unit or to a department that has system-wide accountability. Strategic, tactical and operational planning (12 + months) for the function or department Direct budgetary responsibility for one or more departments, functions or major projects/programs; Interpret and execute policies for departments/projects and develops; Recommend and implement new policies or modifications to existing policies; Hiring staff, recommending pay increases, performing performance reviews, training and development of staff, estimating personnel needs, assigning work, meeting completion dates, interpreting and ensuring consistent application of organizational policies.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education: Bachelor’s degree in business or marketing. Work Experience: At least 10 years of sales experience to include at least 5 years’ experience in a leadership role. Knowledge / Skills / Abilities: Position requires travel up to 50% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).

The anticipated salary range for this position: $177,000.00 - $266,000.00 Annual The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s location, education, experience, skills, and abilities. This role is bonus and/or incentive eligible. Medline will not pay less than the applicable minimum wage or salary threshold. Our benefit package includes health insurance, life and disability, 401(k) contributions, paid time off, etc., for employees working 30 or more hours per week on average.
