Job Description The Nursing Instructor position is an 11‑month, tenure‑track faculty position with an anticipated start date of January 2026. This position requires effective teaching and advising of diverse students, excellent oral and written communication skills, and a commitment to the comprehensive state college mission. The nursing programs provide quality educational opportunities for students seeking to enter the healthcare arena as baccalaureate, associate, or practical nurses in order to meet the community’s health care needs. Key Responsibilities Teach a broad range of courses in the department with flexibility for day, evening, weekend, or online teaching assignments. Prepare course plans and materials; effectively deliver subject matter content. Monitor student attendance and progress, and assess learning outcomes. Participate on departmental and college committees, contribute to curriculum development, and support retention activities. Participate in textbook selection and other instructional resource decisions. Engage in service activities and professional development related to the nursing discipline. Report directly to the Director of Nursing. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in nursing from an institution accredited by a U.S. Department of Education recognized accrediting agency. Current Florida nursing license without restrictions required by the first date of employment. American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate. At least two years of current nursing experience. Successful completion of a criminal background check and drug screen. Compliance with Florida Statute § 435.04(2) background investigations; failure to meet these requirements renders a candidate ineligible for employment. Preferred Qualifications Doctoral degree in nursing (PhD, EdD, or equivalent) from an accredited institution. Post‑secondary teaching experience. Demonstrated experience in curriculum development and evaluation. Salary For an 11‑month contract, salary ranges are as follows:

• Bachelor’s degree: $50,708.00 – $56,708.00
• Master’s degree: $53,458.00 – $59,458.00
• Doctoral degree: $58,208.00 – $64,208.00

Faculty members with less than three years of related experience are placed on the salary schedule as follows (2025‑2026): Day Base: $39,500 for a bachelor’s or less, $42,250 for a master’s, $44,000 for a master’s plus, $47,000 for a doctorate. All degree classifications receive an additional amount (up to $6,000) for each year of documented related experience.
