Plastics Extrusion Machine Operator - Temp - 2nd Shift

Work Shift Second Shift - Manchester (United States of America) Work Shift Time: 2:45 PM - 10:45 PM, Monday through Friday. Essential Job Functions Commitment to Safety: Demonstrates a strong commitment to maintaining a safe work environment by adhering to all safety protocols and guidelines. Promotes a culture of safety within the organization by leading by example and encouraging others to prioritize safety. Reports any safety incidents or near‑misses to the appropriate personnel and contributes to the investigation process. Participates in safety‑related programs and initiatives including the safety committee on a rotating schedule, Risk Assessments, Exposure Hunts, department inspections, and change‑management activities. Obtains certification at minimum HTH Operator level 1 within the specified timeframe on each training checklist. Maintains a clean, safe, and organized department. Performs basic troubleshooting of extrusion machinery and plastic processes. Complies with standard operating procedures, control plans, safety, and environmental procedures. Maintains accuracy in production reporting, downtime, sampling, and data entry. Reads and interprets the discrete job routing sheet and repetitive processes. Completes necessary computer transactions or paperwork. Maintains established production standards and accounts for personal goals and departmental metrics. Successfully completes training and operates PIT’s. Complies with ISO/TS 16949, ISO 14001, and BRC/IOP quality and environmental standards. Performs 6S audits, layered audits, and participates in corrective actions captured during audits. Ensures the plastics packaging process working environment is maintained clean, hygienically appropriate, and products in Building 3 are protected from tampering. Works overtime as requested, including extended shifts and weekends. Works well with others in a team environment and maintains full‑time presence. Is cross‑trained in other functions as required or requested. Notifies appropriate personnel of any incidents or situations that trigger the contingency plan. Performs emergency response duties as required by the department supervisor or manager. Moves chemicals or wastes within the facility and maintains chemical storage areas clean and orderly. Follows applicable Environmental Health and Safety department procedures. Completes additional tasks as assigned. Job Qualifications High School Diploma and/or GED required. Demonstrated ability to work within a team and complete multiple tasks simultaneously. Ability to read, comprehend, follow, and recommend improvements to working instructions and procedures. Basic computer literacy. Effective verbal and written communication skills.
