About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Medical/Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Days - every other weekend, day shifts, first to float Hours per Shift: 36 guaranteed hours per week Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience License: Yes Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: - Must pass the dysrhythmia exam within two attempts prior to signing the contract. - Required to interpret telemetry strips and sign at least once per shift. - Experience with total joint replacement. - Experience with reading basic telemetry strips and some experience with CVA and TIA. Description: Clinicians must take and pass dysrhythmia exam prior to signing the contract. If the clinician fails to score 80% in two attempts, they will be DNU for 6 months. Radiuses of 50 miles are enforced, and candidates may not have worked full-time, part-time, or PRN with any associated facility in the past year. The unit has 49 beds with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5. Required certifications are ACLS and BLS. Common diagnoses include CHF, COVID-19, respiratory issues, gastrointestinal issues, diabetes, post-catheterization care, and total joint replacement. Registered Nurses are required to interpret and sign telemetry strips at least once per shift. There are Nurse Aides on the unit with a ratio of 1:10-15. Required equipment includes BiPAP, CPAP, and breathing treatments. Scheduling is self-scheduling but requires managerial balance. Weekend work requirement is two weekends per four-week schedule. Holiday work requirement includes working during Christmas, New Year's, and Thanksgiving. Floating to other units may be necessary. Scrub color is navy blue. Charting is done through a specified system. This position does not require a BSN. This role is within acute care nursing.
