Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Desired Qualifications:

• Valid certification or credential as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired
• Previous experience supporting students with visual impairments, ideally in a school setting
• Strong communication skills for collaborating with general education teachers, staff, and families
• Familiarity with adaptive technologies, braille, and assistive devices for visual impairments
• Ability to design and modify curriculum to meet individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Organizational skills and reliability in maintaining student documentation

Position Responsibilities:

• Deliver targeted instructional support to two elementary students with visual impairments (grades 3 and 5)
• Assess individual needs and adapt teaching strategies and materials accordingly
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to promote inclusive practices
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to documentation and progress reports
• Utilize braille, large print, and technology tools to facilitate student access to curriculum
• Foster a positive, empowering learning environment
