Registered Nurse – Pre-Op / Phase II Recovery

Title: Registered Nurse – Pre-Op / Phase II Recovery

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years clinical experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, PALS
• Additional certification: ACLS
• Pediatric exposure: ~3–4%

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Perform pre-op assessments for surgical and endoscopy cases.
• Provide Phase II recovery care and discharge teaching.
• Assist with conscious sedation and IV starts.
• Administer respiratory support including breathing treatments and CPAP/BiPAP.
• Ensure patient safety and comfort throughout the recovery process.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to coordinate patient care.

Compliance / Notes:

• Float required between Pre-Op and PACU.
• References required: 2 covering the last year; can include Charge RNs/Leads.
• Onboarding modules: Average 16 hours completed pre-start (non-billable).
