Structural Fire Damage Remediation Specialist

Picture this: you arrive at a property that has just been affected by fire and smoke. The air movers are ready, the debris needs clearing, and a family or business is counting on a steady hand. In this physically demanding, hands-on role, you’ll work in both residential and commercial spaces—often in non-climate-controlled conditions—to help restore safety and order after a loss.

• Tear out and haul away fire- and smoke-damaged building components—drywall, flooring, insulation, cabinets, and other materials—to prepare spaces for rebuilds.
• Clear debris and remove damaged contents from homes and businesses.
• Assist with smoke, soot, and odor mitigation to improve indoor conditions.
• Clean affected surfaces such as walls, ceilings, floors, furniture, and more.
• Support water extraction and structural drying when firefighting efforts have introduced water.
• Use hand and power tools to perform demolition and restoration tasks safely and efficiently.
• Load, unload, and transport tools, equipment, and materials to and from job sites.
• Set up and run restoration equipment, including air movers, dehumidifiers, and HEPA filtration units.
• Keep work areas organized, clean, and compliant with safety best practices.
• Follow company safety protocols and wear all required PPE.
• Assist restoration crews with repairs and rebuilding activities as needed.

• Background in construction, demolition, restoration, general labor, or similar hands-on work (preferred).
• Comfort using basic hand tools and power tools.
• Physical stamina to frequently lift, bend, stand, climb, and carry throughout the shift.
• Ability to lift approximately 50–75 lbs.
• Comfort working around fire-, smoke-, and water-damaged materials.
• Willingness to work in dirty, dusty, hot, cold, or otherwise non-climate-controlled environments.
• Reliable transportation and consistent, dependable attendance.
• Commitment to wearing appropriate PPE and following all safety requirements.

Candidates who excel often come from demolition, construction, fire/water restoration, disaster cleanup, carpentry, or other physically demanding general labor backgrounds.
