About the Position

Job Title: Sterile Processing Technician Profession: Surgical Services Specialty: Sterile Processing Tech Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Mid Hours per Shift: 8 hours (3:00 PM - 11:30 PM, Monday to Friday) Experience: - 2 years of experience required. - Level 1 Trauma experience required. - Previous experience in sterilization, decontamination, and assembly/wrapping. - Experience with neuro, GU, robotics, ENT, ortho, transplant, and GYN cases preferred. License: - South Carolina License preferred. Certifications: - CBSPD and/or HSPA required. Must-Have: - Ability to float or be permanently switched to other campuses as needed. - All requested time off must be provided at the time of submission. - Candidates should be aware that during hurricane season, assignments may involve emergency response duties. Description: The Sterile Processing Technician plays a critical role in maintaining the standards of sterilization and decontamination within the surgical services field. Candidates should have a strong background in sterile processing techniques and equipment. The position requires attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols. Floating to various facilities may be a requirement to meet organizational needs. The technician will be involved in the preparation and processing of surgical instruments. This includes receiving, cleaning, assembling, and sterilizing instruments and medical supplies. Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a team are essential. The technician will be responsible for ensuring that all equipment is functioning correctly. They must document sterilization cycles and ensure compliance with all regulations. Candidates must have the ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment. Commitment to ongoing training and education in the field of sterile processing is expected. This role is vital for patient safety and the overall efficiency of the surgical services provided.
